Gen. Martin E. Dempey was, until recently, headquartered at Fort Monroe in Hampton where he headed the Army's Training and Doctrine Command.
He was recently named as Army Chief of Staff, and now he's in line to become chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing Adm. Mike Mullen.
None of which explains the following video, where Dempsey croons "New York, New York." Or maybe it does. Some say Dempsey's down-to-earth nature will serve him well in his new job.
If not, he'll be able to sing for his supper.
Take it away, Marty!!!
